HOMEMercury removal from soil

Mercury removal from soil

solutions-showcase-mercury-removal-picMercury is very toxic metal which was used in the past carelessly and certain sites where contaminated by it. In this case the soil around the plant was contaminated with ppm levels of elemental mercury. Our developed process was based on indirectly heated rotary furnace to heat up contaminated soil, and air pollution equipment to separate mercury from the air stream before releasing the air into the atmosphere.

Requirements of the project:

  • Prepare design package for a soil remediation and mercury (Hg) removal processes on pilot scale, identification of the necessary equipment, technical specifications, data sheets, and equipment sizing information
  • Design basis development
  • Process description and guidelines development
  • Equipment specification
  • Vendor evaluation and recommendation
